Meet Our Vets
John Alexander, DVM
Graduated Texas A&M: BS 1990, Animal Science; DVM 1997.
Bio: East Texas country boy (Panola County). Participated in FFA and 4-H, Boy Scouts (Eagle) during high school years in Carthage. Worked at Philmont Scout Ranch during college years. Have served as Chamber President of Bullard C of C, elected to Board of Trustees for Bullard ISD in 2005 and re-elected in 2008. Presently serves on the Texas National Bank Board. Enjoys helping others. Member of musical group “Nearly There”.
Primary clinical interest: surgery, trauma, pain management in small / large animals, small / large reproduction.
Hobbies: playing/writing music, family extracurricular projects, civil activities, snow skiing, camping.

Linda Long Watson, DVM
Graduated Texas A&M 1986.
Bio: Military brat, traveled a lot, graduated John Tyler HS 1971. Attended Tyler Jr. College and TAMU. Worked in Houston at M.D. Anderson Hospital. Was on the TAMU Archery team. Following graduation from vet school, lived and worked in Austin for 5 years. Moved back to Tyler to marry my (insane!) husband.
Primary clinical interest: small animal and exotics.
Hobbies: remodeling and decorating; shoe shopping. |

Justin Cavitt, DVM
Graduated Texas A&M: BS 2002, MS 2003, DVM 2007.
Bio: Grew up in small town of Rosharon, TX. I was involved with animals through 4-H and showing / raising animals. Attended TAMU with a MS, BS in Poultry Science, and graduated vet school in 2007. Have a strong interest in mixed animal veterinary practice in small rural atmospheres and nice friendly folks. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping people help their animals.
Primary clinical interest: large animal medicine and surgery.
Hobbies: hunting, golf, cruising on my Harley. |

Lori Makarski Cavitt, DVM
Graduated Texas A&M: BS 2001, MS 2003, DVM 2007.
Bio: Born and raised in a small town (Minden) in East Texas. Graduated high school at Henderson. Involved in 4-H and FFA. Showed heifers and lambs for FFA. Influenced to become a veterinarian through FFA and living on a small farm in a small town. Glad to be in a rural community such as Bullard—similar to atmosphere I had growing up.
Primary clinical interest: Cardiology, geriatric care, arthritis, pain management.
Hobbies: Outdoor activities—hiking, sports, water sports, tasting wines from around the world, shopping. |
